Cut, fold, stick...

During a recent trip to the TATE, I found some beautiful little card animals to stick and make by Illustrator Alice Melvin. They are so delightful, I am going to make them up and find somewhere special for all the animals to live in my home. Her website is also full of lovely things, so have a peep on the link above. On another note, I hope the weather gets warmer soon, all the baby birds will be chilly!

The above book is a book about moving house, and to reflect the chaos the book opens in all kinds of different directions in a concertina form. I really liked the playfulness of it, and how lovely the illustrations are, plus WOW! colour.

yellow bird, blue, stop eating all the bread...

I recently returned to drawing birds, sound surprising? Though flicking through some old sketchbooks recently I stumbled on some old birds- I had forgotten how much I liked them, so thought id share them. I like to draw quickly when working from them, otherwise I feel that the lines become too solid. sometimes I feel I overthink them, and draw them to death...poor birds, they become heavy and static.
